Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Job Hours:      Full-Time

This position performs basic support services for both the industrial and pharmaceutical operations on-site. Works under the direction of Technical Services management.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with FDA (cGMP) or CLIA quality systems, wet chemistry and microbiological laboratory techniques and procedures.

  • Classical wet chemistry techniques and lab instrumentation (e.g. pH, KF, titration, autotitration, GC, ICP, density, viscosity, etc.).

  • Classical microbiology techniques (i.e. streak plates, culture maintenance, gram stains, aseptic technique, microscope use, autoclave, flow hoods, etc.).

  • Sample preparation techniques

  • Basic computer skills

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of directly applicable experience.

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Demonstrated flexibility in a very dynamic work environment.

Major Accountabilities

  • Performs chemical testing, pH, KF, autotitration, titrations, density, and ICP of materials and finished pharmaceutical products.

  • Performs microbial testing, USP á61ñ and á62ñ of materials and finished pharmaceutical products.

  • Collects water and environmental samples for analysis.

  • Preparation and testing of media used in microbiological testing of pharmaceutical products and components.

  • Maintains live cultures

  • Review microbiological data

  • Maintain records and logbooks

  • Cleaning and maintenance of the Microbiology and Chemistry Lab and associated equipment

  • Dispose of biohazards and affiliated waste through established policies and procedures.

  • Writing and executing equipment and procedure validations.
